The UK Airline Health and Safety Manager is a senior leadership role within TUI Airline, responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the companys health and safety strategies across all UK TUI Airline personnel. This role ensures that the organisation complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, protects the well-being of employees and stakeholders, and fosters a culture of safety across the organisation.
**This role is based in Luton and is offered on a hybrid working basis with a minimum of 2 office days per week, this role will involve regular travel within the UK**

ABOUT THE JOBStrategy Development: Lead the UK TUI Airline health and safety strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives across the Flight Operations, Engineering and back office teams.
Compliance: Ensure TUI Airways meets all health, safety, and welfare statutory obligations, including training and reporting.
Agenda Driving: Align the health and safety agenda with business priorities and regulatory requirements.
Monitoring: Oversee standards, processes, communications, training, and systems for Health and Safety compliance.
Risk Assessments: Collaborate with Department Managers on regular reviews of risk assessments for equipment and operations.
Safety Inspections: Ensure safety inspections of work areas, equipment, and processes are conducted.
Policy Development: Develop Health, Safety, and Wellbeing policies, systems of work, and procedures.
Training Programs: Implement safety training programs and ongoing awareness campaigns for all employees.
Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate Health and Safety records, including occupational health monitoring data.
Audits and Inspections: Manage audits, inspections, and compliance reviews from external agencies.
Advisory: Provide Health and Safety advice and guidance to management and staff.
Incident Investigation: Oversee investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective measures.
Data Provision: Provide accurate data for safety meetings.
Meeting Coordination: Coordinate and attend Health and Safety Meetings, ensuring legislative and union engagement.
Point of Contact: Act as the Health and Safety advocate for TUI Airways, maintaining a presence across the UK network.
ABOUT YOU- Education: Bachelors degree in either Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management; IOSH or NEBOSH Diploma is a plus.
- Travel: Role based in Luton with regular travel; driving license preferred.
- Experience: Significant health and safety leadership experience, ideally in manufacturing, construction, or aviation maintenance.
- Regulation Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK Health and Safety regulations.
- Implementation: Experience in implementing Health and Safety best practices.
- Leadership: Excellent communication, negotiation, and influence skills.
- IT Skills: Proficient in using online management tools for reporting and presenting.
- Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and service providers within the AOC.
