Data Manager, IT Data (The Data Delivery Lead) is the key enabler to satisfy the delivery of Data capabilities required for delivery of Transformation for Group. The Data Delivery Lead will be the conduit between the Project Sponsor, Group and business platform stakeholders and external Data delivery partners and is accountable for successfully delivering the Data related parts of a project. The role involves coordination of the day-to-day activities, support on the prioritization of the requirements/backlog as well as support on the strategic planning over the project lifetime. The role plays a pivotal role to the timely implementation and success of any Data related project.

    Drives to completion the planning and implementation of Project Requirements (both Functional and Non-Functional) that involve multiple IT teams and business stakeholders.Manage from a technical standpoint, the data Analytics project from end-to-end encompassing planning, design, technical implementation, debugging, and roll-out to Production.
Responsibilities: Functional Accountabilities

    Ensure alignment of architectural strategy with business requirements.Consult with project teams to ensure compatibility with existing solutions, infrastructure and services and strategic requirements.Manage data solution implementation and modification activities.Support the development and data delivery platforms with reusable components that can be orchestrated for reuse through different methods for different business purposes.Manage in post-implementation continuous-improvement efforts to enhance performance and provide increased functionality.Perform ongoing data assets quality review activities relative to specific projects/programs/portfolio that one is responsible for.Keep technology and service managers aware of key customer issues, identifying and resolving potential problems and conflicts.
Responsibilities:

    Partner with Product owner and stakeholders to define use cases and translate use cases into specifications, quantify and track business value, and work across business and technical teams to drive successful delivery of products.Work collaboratively with PMO, TP, Architects, Data Analysts, Data engineers, Dev Ops and Test Specialists in designing and implementing robust data solution.Manage data delivery roadmap, scope, and pace of execution to ensure high quality and on time delivery.Create, monitor, and maintain the overall Project Plan, including coordinating task dependencies, including interdependencies with other groups and departments, and establishing milestone Project goals that keep the Project on time and within budgetMatrix-manage a multidisciplinary team (around 30+ people) to achieve project cost, schedule, and quality targets.Remove obstacles and enable teams to work productively in a constructive environment.Develop creative solutions to diverse problems that may occur during execution of the project.Provide vision for and direct oversight of an Architecture function (Enterprise, Data, Infrastructure, Applications, Integration, Cloud, Security, etc.)Ensure Architecture is aligned with Air Canada’s business goals and objectives.Conduct an evaluation of the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.Responsible for reviewing the technical architecture from a security, accessibility, data integrity, and availability points of view.Oversee and monitor progress on complex and/or multiple projects relative to scope, schedules, budgets, and qualityMinimize the impact of integration on various existing processes.Provide financial inputs for developing, administering, and adhering to the budget allocated for project.Provide sizing including effort (man days) and cost ($).Monitor Capex and Opex Budget, forecast and accruals.Responsible for working with stakeholders across technology and business functions to ensure synergistic collaboration and attain shared goals.Manages a branch data analytics POD (30+ resources) and Branch data delivery roadmap (+/- 8M$).Responsible for providing mentorship across functions for common development of technical skills and capabilitiesParticipate in Management and Steer Committees according to cadence, as required.Provide business and technical inputs to Business Governance and Operational Management Committees, as appropriateProvide regular status meeting on progress, risk, and dependencies managementResponsible for handling high amount of technology complexity and drive autonomous decision making, as it relates to adoption of data technologies and best practices across a Project.Responsible to drive technology vision and continuous improvement objectives across functional areasDemonstrate significant technical depth to handle multiple strategic technology prioritiesAssess risks and take preventive and corrective measures
Qualifications

    5+ years of work experience in successful delivery of complex data related projects end to end and people leadership.Project management experience with proven project management skills a definite assetExperience with Agile methodologies; Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) SPC or RTE certification strongly preferred.Experience with Data analytics products or consumer facing technology enabled products is helpful.Experience in Agile or DataOps delivery, quality practices, techniques and tools at all layers of data engineering - Tech-savvy and good understanding of latest technologies incl. Datawarehouse, AWS cloud, Snowflake, Talend, DataBricks, API, inclusion of unstructured data, business intelligence tools. AI and distributed ledger are a plus.Strong analytical, oral and written communication, presentation skills; Advanced MS Office skillsAbility to navigate through ambiguity, set direction, and influence those not under direct line of management.Technical aptitude to support the project’s use of work management and collaboration tools.Experience in working with senior management and leadership team, including Program Managers, Product Managers and Product OwnersExperience with Agile tools (e.g. Jira), particularly in using underlying data to understand ART performance and identifying areas to target for improvement.Ability to lead and manage teams is fundamental, must inspire team members, promote a positive work environment, and foster collaboration to achieve project goalsCollaborate with peers and team to achieve the IT strategic planDemonstrate effective leadership entails providing clear direction, setting performance expectations, and empowering team members to take ownership of their tasks.Keep abreast with the latest technology initiatives, implementations and capabilities related to the Air Canada environmentPost-secondary education in computer science, data science, and related field is an assetDemonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
