Responsibilities
- Manages and oversees Configuration Management (CM) programs. Develops configuration management policies and procedures that ensure protection of the programs software assets, while limiting downtimes and preventing outages.
- Ensures that baselines are appropriately established, oversees development and implementation of change documentation or release management policies, monitors testing and defect tracking, and approves the release of product revisions to development or production environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the fields concepts and principles.
- Performs complex tasks typically following established processes.
- Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions. Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.
- Provides configuration management planning services. Describes provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.
- Regulates the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software.
- Operates automated configuration management systems in development of various logistics support documents including Equipment/System Integrated Logistics Support Plan (EILSP), Configuration Management Plans, Engineering Changes, and Time Compliant Technical Orders (TCTOs).
Qualifications
Three (3) years’ experience in the configuration management of DoD/USCG C4IT systems using Coast Guard, DoD, and Navy logistics information management systems including CG-LIMS, ACMS, FLS, or CMPlus.
