Position Summary
The Business Unit Manager is responsible for leading the Water Business Unit, meeting objectives as identified by the Corporations WIN Strategy. Manages the Profit and Loss (P&L) asset performance of the business unit. Develops world-class manufacturing operations through the use of automation, documented processes, demand flow technologies, and a team of empowered employees to continuously meet customer expectations. Maintain close contact with customers to gain insight into their needs as well as general spanet requirements for business unit products. Coordinates cross-functional activities that may include any or all the following: Sales & Marketing, Design Engineering, Applications Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, HR and Production. Interacts with current and prospective customers, Sales Representatives & Distributors, all levels of the Division.
Responsibilities
- To profitably grow the business and achieve Business Unit, Division and Corporate goals monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Works with current and potential customers to promote and leverage company technologies, systems, products and services.
- Establishes and maintains premier customer service.
- Leads strategy deployment for the operation concentrating on Lean Initiatives and Sales growth.
- Accountable for driving Lean Initiatives throughout the operation to ensure they are fully embraced and implemented.
- Ensures the operation has adequate inventory, production control scheduling, shipping/receiving logistics.
- Develops a budget plan and manages operation within budget constraints.
- Maintains familiarity with competitive environment within geographical area of responsibility.
- Represents the operations at the Business Unit.
- Provides leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counseling, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development.
- Drives a culture of accountability and results through strategy deployment and effective performance management.
- Ensures that the business unit conforms to local, state and federal government regulations.
- Promotes business unit within industry, manufacturing, trade associations and local community.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business discipline is required; an advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Administration.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results through others typically acquired through 5 or more years of increasing experience and responsibility including prior leadership and/or program management role.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem solving / resolution skills and a team focus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to top management, customers, and employees.

This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as spanet and business considerations. Pay Range: $147,877 to $205,047
