Overview
EXTEX, a division of Kaman, is looking for a Business Development Manager for offices located in Gilbert, AZ. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for building relationships with key decision makers in the Aerospace / Commercial Aviation markets, establishing key business development goals and creating plans for the introduction and utilization of EXTEX Engineered Products. This person should Introduce “New Product” that compliments EXTEX capabilities and drives revenue growth. In addition, they are expected to negotiate and administer a variety of high volume / complex sales contracts, using independent discretion and judgment. Provides guidance, training and assists the Sales manager in coaching sales activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build relationships with decision makers in key markets:
- Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Facilities
- Large Fleet Operators appropriate to the EXTEX Catalog
- Oil and gas exploration
- Aeromedical (HEMS)
- Utility and Forestry
- Municipalities (Police / Fire)
- Military and Military Support
- Flight and Mechanical Training Centers
- Focus on gathering information and trends in the above key markets to secure purchase orders and contract customers.
- With the relationships and information, establish key business development goals for the listed markets.
- Determine critical success factors towards enhancing our position and growth opportunities.
- Help guide internal capabilities towards long term strategic success.
- Build fast momentum towards company established, individual and team goals.
- Align all sales activities and opportunities with EXTEX Strategy.
- Help provide guidance and support for the EXTEX Account Managers and propose sales activities that help drive growth.
- Responsibilities include all products from EXTEX Engineered Products in said markets.
- Make recommendations for improvements to work processes.
- Participate in training/learning other positions. Accomplish related results as needed.
- Negotiates contracts with customers regarding price, delivery schedule and terms and conditions, ensuring that terms are acceptable to management. Negotiates changes or modifications to contract when requested by customer.
- Interprets and responds to customer questions or requests for information. Designs proposals and quotes and reports status. Resolves customer issues appropriately and refers issues to supervision when necessary.
- Maintains relationship with accounts, communicates activities, provides reports to customers and department. Handles customer inquiries and complaints. Solves problems that arise in the performance of the contract.
- Research historical data, cost substantiation and market analysis to determine price. Prepares documents for quotes, orders, changes, letters, spreadsheets, presentations and reports.
- Coordinates customer / field sales efforts with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Contract Review departments.
- Provides reports to management, indicating pending and overdue orders.
- Assists in training with Account Manger team on customer programs and EXTEX processes. Provides coaching on new customer initiatives.
- Identify and communicate new development products. Supplies manuals, parts and resources for all product lines suggested.
Qualifications

Experience: | Minimum10 years of experience in aerospace and 5 years of experience in sales and Marketing. Engineering or Mechanical background a plus. |
