Position SummaryReporting to the Director of Commercial Services, the Thunder Bay Base Manager is responsible for providing direction and supervision to the operational functions of the Thunder Bay base, ensuring that customer satisfaction and on-time performance goals are not only met, but exceeded.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities- Oversee operations at Thunder Bay, including:
- Customer Service Agents
- Ramp Agents
- Vehicle maintenance
- Occupational health and safety requirements
- Coordinate service contracts, authorize expenses and approve payment for charges related to the requirements of the Thunder Bay base.
- Oversee daily operations in Thunder Bay and actively assist in creating irregular operations recovery plans.
- Use payroll system to schedule employee shifts and approve payroll.
- Coordinate mechanical and preventative maintenance work on equipment as per preventative maintenance manual, e.g. circulating pumps, air handling systems, refrigeration, etc.
- Identify and diagnose problems, coordinate and assign appropriate staff or contractors to replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Maintain and update preventative maintenance records for equipment and vehicles. Create new company-formatted forms for any new equipment and vehicles.
- Maintain and update Occupational Health and Safety records as required. Create new company-formatted forms as necessary.
- Represent the Company as necessary for operational and/or promotional purposes within the Ontario/Eastern Region:
- Maintain and develop relationships with local Airport Authorities, other airport tenants, corporate partners and service providers
- Act as company representative when meeting with outside contractors as required, e.g. Fire Department, Hydro, etc.
- Act as point of contact for tenants renting company property
- Provide planning and operational data to various managers, and suggestions to improve Company operations in the areas of staffing and on-time performance (OTP):
- Assist required third party services to provide scheduled, charter and training operations at the bases
- Assist with the preparation of quotes in response to requests for services to support third party customers at bases
- Oversee the effective and efficient scheduling and utilization of resources to support the scheduled, charter and training operations:
- Co-ordinate additional resources from other Company departments and/or third party providers to execute the operations
- Assist Charter Connexions in providing facility and staff resources to ensure that customer needs are met.

- Assist and step in for department as required.

Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
- Minimum one year experience with an Aviation Management Software System considered an asset (VMO preferred)
- Minimum one year experience with an Airline Reservation Software System considered an asset (Amelia preferred)
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
