Job Title: Assistant Director of Maintenance

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting the Director of Maintenance and operational needs of SAE. This person serves as the Director of maintenance in his/her absentee. He/she is responsible for ensuring adequate tooling, personnel, and technical data is available for maintaining the Company’s aircraft and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and assist assigned Mechanics as necessary to accomplish all maintenance functions, in accordance with company maintenance manuals, policies and procedures, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Perform formal classroom or on-the-job technical training on aircraft maintenance practices, company policies, safety procedures and general information where required.
- Ensure proper and legible completion of all company forms for all work assigned and performed, and correct disposition processing upon completion.
- Maintain the work areas, buildings and materials, which are, utilized for aircraft maintenance, in a safe, clean and operative condition.
- Conserve and protect Southern Airways funds, property, equipment and materials.
- They shall ensure that Mechanics assigned to them adhere to Southern Airways published Policies and Procedures, to include manufacture instructions and Southern Airways Task Cards.
- Acts on behalf of the Director of Maintenance when delegated or in his/her absence.
- Supervises Assigned Maintenance Base Activities, Mechanics as assigned and Non-Certified Mechanics as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Airframe and Powerplant license required
- Familiar with the AAIP, CAMP and GMM
- Familiar with Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (Parts 43, 91, and 135) as it pertains to aircraft maintenance.
- prefer familiarity/experience with Caravan C-208 and Pilatus PC-12 aircraft.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, excel and power point).
Education:- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:- 3-years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
- 5 years’ industry experience in aviation, or part 135 or 121 air carrier operations or corporate aircraft.
Miscellaneous Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen as required by airline regulations and company policies.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1968.
- Southern Airways participates in E-Verify.
- Fluency in English.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Computer, office equipment, phone skills.
- The employee is frequently required to sit.
- Ability to work within a 24/7 operation, including holidays.
- Must be able to meet all physical requirements related to aircraft weight limitations before and during employment.
