Position: Sub-Assembly Trainee
Reports To: Director of Operations
Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Shift: 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

BASIC WORKER FUNCTION:
Learn to fabricate, assemble, and install helicopter parts, including thermoplastic panels, doors, and assemblies, using hand tools, power tools, molds, and vacuum forming equipment. Follow blueprints and specifications to ensure high-quality work.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF
TASKS:
• Fabricate thermoplastic parts by cutting and forming sheets according to specifications.
• Inspect, trim, route, and fit parts; bond and rivet as needed.
• Install electrical terminal boards and assist with wiring.
• Assemble doors, windshields, cabin windows, and other components.
• Build seat structures and install associated linkages, pedals, and brackets.
• Attach cabin and tail cone assemblies, including tail rotor drive, cowling, and stabilizers.
• Follow all safety regulations and maintain a clean work area.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Mechanical aptitude; automotive or assembly experience is a plus.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication or production assembly.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and specifications.
• Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform precise work.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic shop math skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Previous mechanical assembly or fabrication experience is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and follow detailed procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift frequently; lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive motions.
• Adequate vision for reading blueprints and measuring instruments.
• Wear required PPE as needed.
• Occasional operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment.
