Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Technician to perform repairs and maintenance on larger damage-tolerant aircraft. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of aviation experience with a heavy focus on sheet metal, experience working with pressurized aircraft, and the ability to read and interpret Structural Repair Manuals and drawings. Mechanical as well as AVI backgrounds are a plus. Applicants may be tested for memory and/or practical knowledge during the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sheet Metal Repairs: Perform complex sheet metal repairs on larger damage-tolerant aircraft, including those with pressurized cabins. Complete all stages of sheet metal repairs and fabrication.
  • Structural Repair Manual: Read and interpret Structural Repair Manuals and drawings to determine repair procedures and techniques. Must be versed in reading the SRM and other technical data.
  • Damage Assessment: Assess and evaluate damage to aircraft structures and determine appropriate repair methods. Perform damage assessments and work directly with NDT services.
  • Fabrication: Fabricate and install sheet metal components, including panels, skins, and structural members.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all repairs meet regulatory and company standards.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 10+ years of aviation experience with a heavy focus on sheet metal, including work on larger damage-tolerant aircraft.
  • Pressurized Aircraft Experience: Experience working with pressurized aircraft and knowledge of the unique challenges and requirements associated with these aircraft.
  • Structural Repair Manual: Must be versed in reading the SRM and other technical data. Ability to read and interpret Structural Repair Manuals and drawings.
  • Sheet Metal Skills: Strong knowledge of sheet metal repair and fabrication techniques. Must be able to perform all stages of sheet metal repairs and fabrication.
  • Assessment Skills: Must be capable of performing damage assessments and coordinating with NDT services.
  • Testing: Applicants may be subject to memory and/or practical knowledge testing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mechanical/AVI Background: Mechanical as well as AVI backgrounds are a plus.
  • Advanced Certifications: Additional certifications, such as an Inspection Authorization (IA) or a manufacturers certification (e.g., Boeing, Airbus).
  • Leadership Experience: Experience leading teams or mentoring junior technicians.
  • Advanced Material Knowledge: Knowledge of advanced materials, such as composites, and experience working with these materials.

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge and skills in sheet metal repair and fabrication.
  • Quality Workmanship: Consistently produce high-quality work that meets or exceeds regulatory and company standards.

  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals and objectives.
