Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance Technician with a strong experience in MRO and AMO operations, particularly in heavy modifications and structural work. This role involves working closely with crew leads to install parts, perform maintenance, and ensure the integrity of aircraft structures. You will be part of a supportive team environment where your expertise in aviation maintenance will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support maintenance plans with assistance from crew leads.
• Guide and mentor apprentices in their daily tasks.
• Order necessary parts and ensure their availability on the floor.
• Participate in tailgate meetings to coordinate daily tasks.
• Install and modify tanks and other components according to drawings.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain aircraft structures, including grinding and blending out corrosion and damage.
• Collaborate with leads and managers to strategize the best repair approaches.
• Provide feedback on maintenance processes and improvements.
• Engage in physically demanding tasks such as stooping, kneeling, and working on the floor.

Essential Skills

• 8+ years of experience in MRO/AMO operations.
• Extensive experience with heavy modifications and structural work.
• Proficiency in English reading and writing.
• Possession of personal tools.
• Experience with controlled goods, helicopters, C130, and 737 aircraft.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with composite materials.
• Lead hand experience.
• Training in lift and first aid.
• Familiarity with fuel cell and restraint training.
• Comfortable working at heights, including man lift and boom lift operations.

Compensation

• Hourly rate is based on experience/AME license
• Weekly payroll
• Hotel or Air B&B accommodation provided

• Flights covered for fly in/fly out rotations

Work Environment

Work alongside approximately 30 colleagues on a rotational schedule of two weeks on and one week off. Shifts run from 6 am to 4:30 pm with the potential for afternoon shifts as the team expands. Expect a busy schedule with opportunities for overtime. The work is physically demanding and involves working in various positions, including stooping and kneeling. Company accommodations are provided, and transportation is managed for ease of access to and from the work site.

This is a Contract position based out of Port Alberni, British Columbia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
