Position Overview
The Structures Mechanic is responsible to inspect, repair, modify, and troubleshoot airframe parts, and components. The Structures Mechanic is responsible to perform work within estimated timeline destinated by HAECO Airframe Services ("HAECO"), FAA, and customer standards of quality.
- Effectively communicate with and assist Aircraft Engineers in the development of repair solutions and modifications for transport category aircraft.
- Fabricate repair parts and assemblies in accordance with Approved/Accepted Data.
- Perform structural repairs as assigned.
- Provide Structural assistance to other departments as directed by Supervisors and Leads.
- Inspect, overhaul, repair, modify, and troubleshoot airframe structural parts, and components.
- Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish a specific task.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform work within estimated hours.
- Follow all safety procedures.
- Execute all required paperwork as work is completed in connection with assigned normal duties.
- Use and operate ground support equipment, as applicable and if qualified, in a safe manner.
- Complete assignments in accordance with the instructions for continued airworthiness.
- Act as a mentor to help develop less experienced technicians.
- Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers.
- Perform other work as instructed by the Structures Lead or Maintenance Supervisor, if qualified.
What you need: (Requirements)
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Eighteen (18) months or more of aircraft structural overhaul experience, or successful in gaining a Structures Repairman’s certificate through HAECO’s repairmen’s certification program.
- Must provide own tools as required on company tool list.
- Language (read, write, speak, and understand English).
- Subject to noises more than 85 dbs.
- Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time and climb ladders and/or service stands.
- May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and requires the use of all safety equipment.
- Must be able to breathe through a full-face respirator. Employees with facial hair will be required to purchase a hood to meet respirator requirements.
Job requires participation in the DOT random drug and alcohol testing program.Normal or corrected hearing.Capable of lifting fifty (50) pounds.Minimum visual acuity of 20/40 corrected.
Preferred
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant or FAA Airframe certificate.
