Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a recognized technical expert to evaluate and anticipate issues related to Quality, Delivery, and Producibility for future business opportunities.
  • Provide engineering support to team working on Manufacturability, Producibility and Cost Out projects and initiatives.
  • Recognized as approachable, collaborative and inclusive.
  • Leverage expertise to resolve problems using engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Lead and provide guidance on evaluation and disposition of non-conformances. Offer new solutions to producibility related issues.
  • Have high levels of interaction with and exposure to engineers from multiple disciplines, manufacturing & quality, and regularly exposed to commodity and industry experts all while promoting open and honest dialogue.
  • At least twice a year, with opportunities for more frequent, travel to manufacturing sites to gain practical knowledge of manufacturing.
  • Use engineering judgement and experience to challenge entrenched processes and methodology to recommend improvements.
  • Lead technical projects with high complexity through collaboration with field and industry experts.
  • Provide support to repair development, producibility improvements, hardware delivery and vendor qualifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
  • Develop and implement training modules as necessary.
  • Actively contributes to the organization on Lean activities.

Qualifications Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience in a relevant engineering role.
  • Solid contribution in a similar role or previous position.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish. 
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to communicate with Senior Leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing projects across functions.
  • Capable of coaching others to accomplish assignments.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in establishing common goals and objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence others and to lead small teams.
  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Proven analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Experience with Ansys and Unigraphics.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, especially of Aerospace components.

Desired Characteristics

  • Previous experience in design of aviation components.
  • Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams.
  • Certification in ASME Y14 or practical experience with GD&T.
  • Interest in being a self-starter with a passion for problem solving and driving solutions, while constantly learning and mentoring others.
