Manages site activities. Manages the execution of site operations to ensure that projects are completed in a safe and timely manner. Administrates operations and activities to detect unsafe conditions or actions and takes action to correct them. Meets with the project manager regularly to ensure deadlines are being met. Ensures all work complies with company and government regulations. Comprehensive knowledge of the fields concepts and principles. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions. Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies. Typically requires BA and 5-7 years.
Responsibilities
- Is responsible for all maintenance and inspection personnel.
- Ensures all contract aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition.
- Ensures that all Inspections, repairs, and component changes are accomplished in a timely manner accordance with manufacturers or approved procedures.
- Ensures compliance with maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service, bulletins, service letters, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Ensures all the maintenance technicians are trained and current on the types of aircraft for which approved.
- Ensures that all maintenance technicians are certificated and supervised according to the requirements specified in the approved procedures.
- Coordinates with maintenance contracting agencies when maintenance activities are being performed on company aircraft.
- Provides the Program Manager with the current airworthiness status of the aircraft and the forecast down times to facilitate maintenance scheduling and insure timely correction of aircraft discrepancies.
- Makes available to maintenance personnel the necessary overhaul manuals, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, applicable sections of this manual, and any other required technical data.
Qualifications
- Must have thorough knowledge of DOD and commercial aviation maintenance practices and regulations for maintaining rotorcraft aircraft IAW DOD manuals.
- Must be able to comply with terms of the contract and referenced Government regulations
- Must have a results-oriented commitment to the continuing evolution/improvement of the maintenance program.
- Must be able to Implement policies, plans, programs, and systems established to execute the contract and applicable FAR’s.
- Must be able to monitor and enforce job safety, practices and hazard prevention in the workplace.
- Must possess leadership and management skills and have a proven track record demonstrating adaptability to change and the ability to respond to challenges in a changing environment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees throughout the organization.
- Must also be able to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Must have thorough knowledge of and the application of quality tools.
- Must be knowledgeable of problem-solving techniques and have knowledge of Aerospace (AS) 9110 Quality Management System
- Monitors maintenance performance against Company policies, procedures, and standards, and provides recommendations to improve safety of operations and productivity of the entire operation.
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance management preferred.
- Must possess 7 years’ of direct Army rotorcraft experience (Apache preferred)
- Must possess 10 years aviation maintenance with 5 years supervisory experience (rotarywing preferred).
