The Return to Service (RTS) Quality Inspector is responsible for performing final inspections and authorizing return to service of corporate aircraft following maintenance, repair, and alteration activities. This position ensures all work complies with FAA regulations, approved data, and corporate aviation quality standards while supporting safe, efficient operations and AOG requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform final and buy-back inspections on corporate aircraft prior to Return to Service (RTS).
- Verify maintenance, repairs, and alterations are completed in accordance with FAA regulations (14 CFR Part 145 / Part 135), approved technical data, and company procedures.
- Review maintenance documentation including logbooks, work cards, task packages, engineering orders, and customer requests for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and OEM requirements.
- Inspect installations, component changes, structural repairs, avionics upgrades, and system operational checks.
- Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and flight departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Authorize RTS by signing maintenance releases when all airworthiness requirements are met.
- Identify nonconformities and initiate corrective actions per the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Support AOG events, on-call maintenance, and customer-driven schedules as required.
- Participate in internal audits, FAA surveillance, and customer inspections.
- Promote Safety Management System (SMS) compliance and conti
