MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate has the required certifications and ratings in addition to the essential skills of troubleshooting, attention to detail, and manual dexterity. Other qualifications include:
- Must possess high school diploma/GED.
- Must possess a current FAA mechanic certificate with both an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) rating.
- Must have a minimum of one year of aircraft maintenance experience or graduated from an accredited A&P program or university.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings to perform required maintenance tasks.
- Must be able to effectively troubleshoot aircraft systems and be willing to use resources to research solutions.
- Must have diligent record-keeping skills and be proficient, or able to become proficient, in documentation using maintenance tracking software program, which includes material requisitions.
- Must have own hand tools or be willing to purchase the necessary tools to perform the responsibilities of the position.
- Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather, when necessary.
- Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position, which includes repeatedly lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record check.
- Must be able to work all shifts, to include overnights, weekends, and holidays, and be able to travel to remote Alaskan locations occasionally.
- Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug test.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
