Inspector – Ensure Quality Excellence in Aerospace Manufacturing
Location: Des Moines, IA 50265
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $19.33 per hour (based on experience)
Type: Full-Time, Consultant (12 Months)
Play a Key Role in Delivering Precision, Safety, and QualityPDS Tech Commercial is seeking a detail-oriented Inspector to support a leader in the aerospace industry. Your work will directly influence product integrity, safety, and compliance—ensuring that every component meets critical standards before it moves to the next stage of production. This is an impactful role well-suited for individuals who thrive in structured processes, precision measurement, and hands-on quality assurance.
What You’ll DoAs an Inspector, you will perform a wide range of inspection and quality-related functions, including:
- Inspect incoming, in-process, and final products to verify conformance with drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
- Review and validate required documentation such as routers, flow cards, and First Article Inspection reports.
- Prepare for inspections by interpreting blueprints, technical data, and manuals.
- Use precision measurement tools such as gages, calipers, comparators, and micrometers.
- Assist Quality Engineers with source inspections, file approvals, corrective actions, and customer FAIRs.
- Oversee customer requirement audit systems and conduct IOS book and gage kit audits.
- Coordinate and conduct training on gage use, calibration, gage system software, and inspection procedures.
- Assist with training new inspectors, including IOS book requirements and gage kit development.
- May coordinate shipping of final product.
- Perform visual inspections using IOS books and associated materials.
- Follow all EHS, Quality, and CI procedures.
- Work extended hours, overtime, or some holiday shifts as required to support business needs.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical documents, and inspection standards.
- Experience using measurement instruments (gages, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and established quality processes.
- Willingness to work overtime, extended hours, or nonstandard schedules based on business demand.
- Ability to work onsite full time.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting quality engineering activities.
- Knowledge of FAIRs, IOS books, gage calibration systems, and audit processes.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing or inspection environments.
- Previous training or experience in quality systems or inspection methodologies.
- Ability to train others on inspection tools and quality procedures.

Pay Details: $19.33 per hour
