Job Description

The Quality Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring that products conform to design requirements by providing objective evidence of results. This position involves performing auditing, surveillance, and monitoring tasks, as well as identifying and documenting discrepancies. Non-conforming items are segregated and controlled, and preliminary reviews and dispositions of non-conformances are conducted. This role also includes conducting product reviews with customers during product or process verification, and identifying repetitive or significant non-conformances to initiate corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct dimensional inspections per design record and documented AQL levels.
• Perform visual inspections for obvious defects.
• Review and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per AS9100 and Quality standards.
• Communicate with vendors as needed.
• Control and disposition non-conforming products.
• Obtain and maintain Customer Designated Supplier Quality Representative Stamps for at least three customers.
• Review and approve First Articles from suppliers.
• Identify and communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivity.
• Assist with RCCA activities related to Inspection.
• Participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits.
• Mentor the Inspection team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1-2 years of related work experience (2-4 years preferred).
• Equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.
• Previous aerospace inspection experience.
• Required to pass documented color and near vision exam.
• Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

Work Environment

The position is based in an office environment within a warehouse, which is air-conditioned, very clean, and well-organized. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Enfield, CT.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
