Position Summary:

To evaluate and document existing approved processes. Responsible for the NDT Examinations and verification of process parameters to achieve desired production goals and quality standards.

 

Scope/Supervision and Interaction:

This job has no supervisory responsibility; however, this position mentors entry-level QA/NDT technicians and new employees.Must have ability to deal with people at a cross-functional level. Position requires ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form in order to present information and respond to inquiries from employees, customers, and suppliers. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results.
  • Set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Familiar with the scope and limitations of the method of NDT being used and should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistants and Level I Technicians. 
  • Organize and report results of NDT.
  • Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.      Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect defects using NDT methods of inspection. Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.  Organize and report test results.
  • Assures product and process quality by testing finished product. Documents test results along with inspection results of conformance to defined requirements.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving processes, procedures or equipment.  Interfaces with engineers, peers, or internal customers for assistance and identification of requirements to resolve manufacturing related process problems.
  • Maintains a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of a business culture, which supports the Companys overall business objectives and goals, by providing leadership in issues that involve cost, quality, process, schedule and people.
  • Ensures the companys commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.

Qualifications

Competitive Compensation 

  • Hourly pay range for this role is $25-30 per hour
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program (ACIP)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.  Some college preferred.
  • ASNT NDT Level II Certification (VT, MT, PT)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections. 
  • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and hands-on capabilities to work on projects without supervision. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes preferred. Prefer Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, project management, FMEAs, and quality systems experience.
