Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Execute research projects that aim to increase the performance and durability of components and structures in aerospace engines
• Execute with ownership tasks related to the design, analysis, and testing of rotating machinery components and systems including conceptual design, detailed design, testing, validation, and product implementation.
• Prepare and participate in project and technical reviews.
• Collaborate with other scientists, engineers, and technicians to develop and test new techniques for enhanced durability of aero-engine parts.

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Mechanics
• Experience with design, analysis (including finite element analysis) and testing of rotating machinery components (e.g., shafts, bearings, dampers, couplings, seals, gears)
• Strong analytical skills
• Execution mindset and sense of urgency.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a global team environment.

Desired Characteristics:

• Strong fundamentals in areas related to mechanics of solids, dynamics, machine design, numerical methods, tribology and wear or durability testing
