The Internship Period will be between May/June through August/September 2026.

As an intern at Crane Aerospace & Electronics, you will develop knowledge about the business through exposure to a functional area (such as manufacturing, engineering, and lean principles). You will focus on developing the skills necessary for success by assisting employees with day-to-day job assignments. You may be assigned to additional training or project work. The companys internship program is intended to provide students from diverse backgrounds with the opportunity to practice business skills learned in school while gaining work experience.
The intern would have the unique experience of interacting directly with senior level engineers working on products in various stages of their life cycle. The intern will get exposure to research, design, development, and production. Responsibilities and tasks will be tailored to the applicant’s abilities.
Job Summary:
Perform engineering duties in researching, planning, designing, and developing the mechanical aspects of products for use in aerospace or electronics spanetplace. Work on new product designs, modernization, and upgrades, as well as perform extensive analyses to ensure cost, quality, and customer requirements. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform daily assignments. Apply principles of science and mathematics to develop economical solutions to technical problems.
Essential Functions:
- Work effectively with other functional groups to achieve product performance
- Generate models and conduct analyses that are in compliance with requirements
- Perform design experiments and evaluate test results to validate analysis
- Build quality and manufacturability into the design
- Generate and review engineering documentation related to product development: technical drawings, procedures, reports, correspondence, etc.
Likely Project Areas:
- Design, analyze, and test 3D printed power supply cases using high-performance plastics
- Update structural analysis models using ANSYS to compare mechanical connection types
- Design and test tooling/fixturing for manufacturing proximity sensors & switches
