About the Program:
Join Wings 12-week paid summer internship! This is a hybrid, in-person program based in Palo Alto, CA, with start dates in May or June. Eligible candidates must be a current student enrolled in a degree program and intend to return to the program after the completion of the summer internship.
About the Role:
Wing is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our Mechanical Design team based in Palo Alto, CA.
Our team develops the hardware in the air and on the ground that enables Wing to operate efficiently at scale. This internship is your chance to make an impact on the exciting future of drone delivery. As a Mechanical Engineering intern you’ll take ownership of a project, design components, solve problems, and work collaboratively with experienced engineers in a fast-paces, innovative environment.
What You’ll Need:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field, graduating between December 2026 and August 2027
- Demonstrated ability to design, prototype, and test mechanical components or test fixtures using CAD, 3D printing, machining, or injection molding.
- Ability to independently investigate technical issues, analyze data, and effectively communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
This is your chance to:
- Brainstorm creative solutions to mechanical, manufacturing, and mechatronic problems
- Design elements of the aircraft, packaging, and/or ground infrastructure
- Get your hands dirty prototyping, building, and testing
- Perform detailed design of manufacturing ready parts in CAD
- Complete engineering analysis from hand-calcs to FEA, and thorough testing of your designs to ensure they are flight-ready!
- Work with teammates to collaborate and push for simple and elegant solutions
- Strive for data-driven decisions that are well understood and communicated throughout the team
- Interface tightly with manufacturing, electrical, UX and other teams on Wing
- Collaborate with external domestic and international vendors to bring your ideas to life at scale
The US base salary range for this internship position is the salary range below + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.

$106,000—$109,000 USD
