Job Description SummaryAt Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

This job post is for the role of Mechanical Design Engineer within the Campania Engineering Center. We are looking for a talented engineer who will join our Engineering team. Working as part of an integrated global team, in this role you will contribute to the mechanical design of Engine Hot Section Modules and Components and their technology maturation vehicles, with the aim of supporting product evolution and design activities up to certification.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Development of new mechanical concepts to enable new engine architectures and support technical feasibility studies and concept design of structural components.

  • Execute the design and analysis of assigned projects using sound engineering principles in agreement to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.

  • Work on CAD models and Drawings.

  • Perform structural analysis: thermo-structural, structural dynamics and fatigue.

  • Participate in design reviews and tech reviews. Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.

  • Efficient communicate with the team to improve collaboration and eliminate waste. Share information and promote open dialogue.

  • Developing deep knowledge of a technical discipline, being in touch with the technical community and proactively participate to the improvement and foster of new methodology/tools.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Engineering Master degree from an accredited university. Aeronautical/Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

  • Good knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculations.

  • Knowledge of CAD/CAE tools.

  • Self-directed and motivated.

  • Open mindset and strong team player.

  • Fluent written and spoken Italian and English.

  • Clear thinking and diligent approach.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required.
