You will be the Manufacturing Equipment Mechanic for the Missiles and Fire Control facilities team. Our team is responsible for all facilities related activities at the Orlando facility.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Manufacturing Equipment Mechanic, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• To analyze malfunctions and make necessary repairs of the mechanical portions of non-Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment and maintain such systems. Determines and performs the repair and maintenance operations necessary to restore normal operation, including major overhauls on involved machine tools, fabricating machines and welding equipment such as hydraulic presses, radial drill presses, jig borers, milling machines, boring mills, shear, punch presses, pumps, and equipment of similar complexity. Performs repair and maintenance operations on exhaust and ventilating fans.
• Examines such equipment while in operation for
defects or faulty operation; determines and performs the repair and maintenance operations necessary to correct defect or prevent breakdown.
• Determines proper method of dismantling machinery to gain access to trouble discovered and uses a variety of mechanic’s tools to perform the disassembly required.
• Ascertains cause of trouble and obtains replacement parts, drawing sketches for machining of replacement as necessary.
• Sets up and operates various machine tools to perform machining operations required or forwards material and sketch to machine shop for manufacture of parts.
• Checks replacement parts for proper dimensions using precision measuring instruments. Reassembles equipment, operates and tests for proper operations. Makes any adjustments necessary to insure efficiency machine performance.
• Removes packing lubricants on new equipment and replenishes with operating lubricants as directed by specifications or verbal instructions. Replaces broken or lost fittings and cups, tightens lubrication line fittings. Replace oil filter elements and maintains lubricating records and charts.
• Performs according to schedule and manufacturers specification, such typical operations as oiling and greasing machines and mechanical equipment; cleaning areas to be serviced before oiling, wiping off excess oil and grease, draining, cleaning, and replenishing oil
reservoirs, grease cups and coolant pumps; cleaning and wiping machinery. Studies blueprints, bills of material, sketches and specifications in order to plan the sequence of operation, location, rigging, movement, aligning, and balancing operations for the more complex types of equipment and machinery Mixes coolants and cutting oils as directed.
• Checks for excessive wear in pulleys, bearings and/or shafts, worn belts, loose cowlings, etc., when noted during the scheduled equipment lubrication.
• Must have the ability to work on a 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between Lockheed Martin and the UAW.Why Join Us

Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 3 Years practical experience or qualified educational certification equivalent, as a mechanic working in a manufacturing / machine tool environment.
Must be able to independently operate hand and power equipment of various types, necessary for the accomplishment of duties as described in the above job description.
Basic Computer Skills to access maintenance work order systems, input daily time keeping, perform company training and access company e-mail.
Ability to work alone without direction or supervision.
Must be able to perform task as described in the job description and ability to work on a 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.
Competently able to use computers and other systems to access, maintain and input data.
Must have the ability to wear safety glasses, shoes and gloves as required where applicable.
Due to access that this role will have, all candidates must be a U.S citizen

Desire a quick learner, results driven individual, who possesses mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and computer skills. Able to read and interpret schematics, drawings, OEM manuals associated with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment as listed in the Job Description.
Uses a variety of mechanical tools, and precision measuring instruments as required. Makes adjustments on cables and/or operating mechanisms to insure efficiency operation of equipment.
Makes sketches for parts to be machined or fabricated as required. Load tests cables and monorail assembly using necessary weights. May be required to perform Millwright duties as necessary.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
