The C-26 Aircraft Maintenance Manager supervises organizational level maintenance on assigned aircraft under contract. Monitors and maintains documents of all aircraft scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Plans and coordinates all aircraft inspections (special, conditional, phase, etc.). Dispatch and monitoring of all assigned tasks and associated jobs to work centers. Keeps DOM briefed on Aircraft status and any safety issues at the site. Works closely with the Operations Department to ensure Aircraft are available to meet the Flight Schedule. Able to monitor the MRO system to report all work performed. Work within Army and FAA regulations. Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports in support of aircraft long range maintenance requirements.
Work Tasks:
- Maintains Aircraft Logbooks showing completed as well as outstanding maintenance actions.
- Ensures all required maintenance has been performed before flights, assisting in the documentation of aircraft flight time and maintenance discrepancies. Comply with all current sections of the ARMY DA PAM 738-751 as applicable to aircraft maintenance.
- Makes certain the aircraft historical records, as well as various other aircraft files in support of aircraft maintenance.
- Verification of all Maintenance Action Documentation prior to safe for flight release of the aircraft. Refer to the company GOP.
- Responsible for mission configuration, working with various work centers with uploads and systems checks as required.
- Ensures the work area is maintained in a neat and orderly manner and that all safety rules and regulations are observed.
- May work with other groups or personnel to resolve problems. Will instruct and assist in training lower-level employees in proper work methods and performance of their job duties. Performs related duties as assigned including any and all duties of lower rated technical personnel within their classification.
- Assist other shops/skills as required. Ensures each site performs a written pass down between shifts, to be annotated in a shop logbook.
- Knowledge of technical directives and DA PAM 738-751 and FAA Regulations. Knowledgeable of and understand basic supply procedures. Possessing working knowledge of applicable aircraft.
- Travel to sites within the program as needed. Will be required to assist in maintenance actions and perform functions for all site areas of responsibility.
- Travel to sites or utilize virtual means to perform initial and annual aircraft familiarization training.
- Perform and assist maintenance as a mechanic to assist in troubleshooting and maintenance for the less experienced mechanics, while he is not training.
- Document and submit written reports as required with clarity and technical accuracy.
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
