The Manager, Quality Control is responsible for day to day management of the QC Supervisors, inspectors, tool calibration, NDT programs, receiving inspection and the general shop floor level quality control. This position is also responsible for estimating manhours for customer work and ensuring the QC function contributes to the overall financial success of company by ensuring the inspectors remain billable as well as productive at all times through effective management of staffing levels and technical capabilities.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS:
- HSD/GED
- Bachelors degree or Associate Degree plus 6 years experience in various phases of a/c mtc in addition to required min work experience or 8 years experience in various phases of a/c mtc in addition to required min work experience.
- NDT level III certified by accredited organization.
- 12 years experience in all phases of Maintenace of large transport category aircraft
- 8 years (can be a part of the 12 min required experience) supervisory/lead level experience.
- Working knowledge of engineering, quality control, maintenance planning/production control repair services and materials operations in a Part 121 or 145 environment.
- Working knowledge of part 121 and 145 audit (IAEP or CASP) programs.
- Demonstrated ability to interact on a regular basis with regulatory authorities.
- Communicate professionally in written and verbal form.
- Experience estimating manhours for inspection tasks.
- Working knowledge of computer operations
- Working knowledge of NDT methods and equipment.
Working knowledge of CFR parts 21, 43, 65, 145 and 121
Working knowledge of ATA style maintenance manuals, and aircraft parts catalogs
Working knowledge of FAA Airworthiness Directives and OEM Service Bulletins
Preferred Job Skills:
- Master Degree in related field
- Industry association committee level experience
- Experience as an NDT instructor
