Job Description SummaryIn this position the Intern will be a student of Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering. The candidate will work together with a process Owner, a Champion and two other Students of Engineering supporting an assigned project as part of the Lean Summer Experience (7 week period).Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze data for assigned project
- Use Lean tools to improve assigned project
- Support the team on the development of Lean tools
- Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special safety requirements
- Document technical data that is generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies, systems and/or processes and that is consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Provide timely communication on significant issues to key stakeholders
- Support the solution of problems of limited scope and complexity
- Self-check of work
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor student in mechanical/aeronautical engineering.
- Fluent in English communication (written and spoken).
- English skills: must be able to maintain a simple conversation in English.
- Presentation skills: ability to communicate with Senior Leadership.
- Effective problem identification and solution skills
- Open team player and strong interpersonal skills
- Good background on Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Processes.
