Job Title: F18 General Mechanic Flight Ops Job Description
Perform maintenance operations on aircraft, aircraft equipment, engines, components, and systems in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier, and other directives in support of aircraft modification. This role includes performing other Airframe & Powerplant repairs, and may also involve Fuel Cell work.
Responsibilities
- Flight control removal/installation and rigging
- CDI or CDQAR Inspector duties
- Engine removal/installation and functional checks
- Turn Qualified – High / Low
- Hydraulic component removal/installation
- Depot disassembly/rebuilds
- Ground support equipment maintenance
Essential Skills- Aircraft maintenance
- Depot level repair and overhaul
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, and test procedures
- Setup and use of pneumatic tools such as screw guns
- Setup and use of torque wrenches
- Use of common hand tools such as wrenches and safety wire pliers
- Ability to remove and replace panels, floorboards, insulation, and sealing compounds using various mechanical fasteners
- Familiarity with large aircraft and components such as airframe and powerplant
- Ability to remove, replace, and check out aircraft components and assemblies
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
- Ability to perform duties while wearing required safety equipment
- Ability to perform assigned duties on all shifts regardless of weather or physical location and conditions
Additional Skills & Qualifications- May order parts, pan stock, tools, materials, and equipment as required to perform assigned duties
- Responsible for complying with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, contracts, facilities, and other pertinent coverage
- Perform other duties as directed by supervision and management for the benefit of the company, program, or employee(s)
- A&P certification

Work Environment
Military hangar environment. Work hours are 1st Shift: M-F 5:30am-2:30pm and 2nd Shift: M-F 2pm-10:30pm. Must be open to work any shift. The environment is open-bay and non-climate controlled. Employees will be able to expense $100 per year for steel-toed shoes.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
