We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Chief Inspector to join our general aviation maintenance team. The Chief Inspector is responsible for overseeing the quality control and inspection processes to ensure that all aircraft maintenance, repairs, and overhauls comply with FAA regulations, company policies, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of aviation maintenance practices, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team of technicians to maintain the highest level of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection Oversight: Conduct final inspections on all aircraft maintenance and repair work to ensure adherence to FAA regulations and company standards.
- Compliance Management: Ensure that all maintenance and repair activities comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate, detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Team Supervision: Provide guidance and oversight to the maintenance staff, ensuring that all technicians are adhering to proper inspection procedures and safety protocols.
- Quality Audits: Develop, implement, and maintain a quality control system, including conducting internal audits and inspections of aircraft, facilities, and procedures.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate current inspection and maintenance processes, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Coordination with Regulatory Bodies: Liaise with FAA representatives and other regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, and certifications.
- Tool Calibration Management: Ensure that all tools and equipment used in maintenance are properly calibrated and function according to required specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Act as the point person for enforcing safety regulations and practices within the maintenance shop.
- Customer Communication: Work closely with customers and the Service Manager to address any quality concerns or questions regarding maintenance work.
