Position: Aircraft Maintenance Controller

General
This is a full-time position that will report to the Supervisor of Maintenance Control and interacts with the Director of Operations, the Chief Pilot, Systems Operations Control staff, and the Company’s flight crews. The responsibilities include the day-to-day aircraft maintenance needs of the Company involving a variety of maintenance tasks relating to the Company’s aircraft and engines. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of all FAR aircraft maintenance requirements. Good communication skills are required, and the successful candidate must be able to exhibit the values and culture of the company while working with flight crews in a fast paced/dynamic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Acts as a liaison on behalf of the maintenance department and communicates effectively with Operations, Flight Crews, Flight Mechanics and/others as needed as part of the daily operation;
- Acts as primary point of contact for all mechanical discrepancies that may affect the daily operation of all Company aircraft;
- Works with appropriate maintenance and supervisory personnel to determine whether discrepancies are deferrable under approved MEL and NEF guidelines;
- Coordinates with Company maintenance and/or contract maintenance providers to work aircraft discrepancies and planned maintenance events so that aircraft are back into service with minimal downtime;
- Works with SOC to coordinate travel to/from an AOG aircraft for flight mechanics;
- Enters all maintenance related discrepancies into computer tracking systems as required;
- Determines corrective actions based on aircraft service-history, analysis, applicable General Maintenance Manual (GMM) guidance, and Company guidelines;
- Promotes teamwork amongst maintenance personnel and flight crews;
- Upholds safety and security procedures and awareness;
- Has the ability to obtain additional qualifications through training and education as needed;
- Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Control Supervisor or Director of Maintenance
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
- Must possess a strong attention to detail
- Two (2) Years experience on Boeing 737’s is highly preferred
- Five (5) Years experience or more on commercial aircraft in a part 121/145 environment required
- Ability to communication effectively; in both oral and written communication
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and wiring diagrams.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets the Company’s insurance standards
- Pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite and the Internet
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a team environment
- Travel may be required
