Employee will be responsible performing inspections on both piston and jet aircraft in the general aviation arena. The position will require the ability to make decisions related to the proper techniques and materials needed to perform the work. Some travel both domestic and international may be required to recover damaged aircraft or repair aircraft at the customer facility. Employee must be proficient in all aircraft manufacturer’s support manuals to allow complete research into a repair programs or maintenance functions.
Straight Flight is a subsidiary of Sierra Nevada Corporation since 2007 and is equipped with 3 18,000 square foot hangars with back shops for fabrication of both metal and composite parts, avionics repair, and painting projects. Straight Flight became a Certified Repair Station with the Federal Aviation Administration in 1992 and was rated by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency in 2007. Straight Flight currently holds a very impressive Operations Specification that includes 5 Class ratings.Salary & Benefits:
- 4 – day work week, (minimum 40 hours a week)

Must-haves:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
- A higher level degree may substitute for experience
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification
- Advanced knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts
- Thorough understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Thorough understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations
Preferred:
- Understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1
- Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation
- Experience with first article inspections
- Prior experience with aircraft modifications
- Previous experience with Corridor software will be favorably considered
- Previous Sheetmetal experience is highly desirable
