Our client, is seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic to support helicopter maintenance operations across multiple rotorcraft platforms. APA Services is facilitating the hiring process, including candidate screening and interview coordination, with the intent of placing candidates into a long-term role that transitions to direct employment with our client following a short evaluation period.
In this role, the A&P Mechanic will perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of helicopter mechanical systems in accordance with FAA regulations, approved maintenance data, and repair station standards. This position is designed for technicians seeking a stable, direct career with our client and requires participation in a formal interview process, either in person or via live video.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Familiar with using test equipment for track and balance. Theory of rotor system tracking and balancing for adjustments.
Interpreting Airworthiness Directives and Alert Service Bulletins for application on helicopters.
Familiar with using measuring instruments such as dial calipers, micrometers, tensiometers, dial bore gauges, feeler gauges, and borescopes.
Adjustments and troubleshooting of engine parameters for oil pressure, Ng, temperature indication, and topping settings.
Familiar with common hand tools for applying torque to fasteners.
Keeping detailed records of all repairs and work performed on the aircraft in accordance with the repair station guidelines.
Inspect and repair aircraft according to strict safety guidelines set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or applicable regulatory body.
Perform routine maintenance checks and perform diagnostic tests to identify hydraulic and mechanical malfunctions.
Consult maintenance blueprints, manuals, and other documents to assist with troubleshooting and repairs.
Inventory aircraft parts, supplies, and equipment, and keep detailed records of inspections, repairs, and other maintenance operations.
Complete tasks within allotted time frames and to FAA (or equivalent) and company standards.
Collaborate with other mechanics and engineers to perform repairs and ensure aircraft are operating smoothly.
Requirements Skills:
Analytical mind with a penchant for troubleshooting.
Excellent math and computer skills.
Detail-oriented with a passion for mechanics.
Manual dexterity and physical strength.
Extensive experience with power and hand tools, and knowledge of aircraft systems, mechanics, and parts.
Ability to make consistent and precise repairs under pressure.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years experience as a helicopter mechanic, with at least 2 years on designated helicopters (Airbus - AS350, EC130, EC135, EC145; Agusta - 109, 119, 139; Bell - 206, 407, 429, 412, 505; MD - 500; Sikorsky - S76).
Working knowledge of blueprint reading, geometry, and trigonometry.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Familiarity with aviation maintenance manuals.
Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license is required.
Miscellaneous This role is intended to transition to direct employment following a short evaluation period.
Candidates must complete an in-person or live video interview.
Some travel may be required.
