Currently they have 4 full time heavy check lines going and are contracted with American and Amazon to do maintenance on Boeing 767 and 757. We currently turn 12 aircraft per night at the airport for Amazon Freight network! The maintenance checks take anywhere from 24 to 60 days. A lot of their work is Amazon and United right now and they do 4 different heavy checks (C-1 – C-4). If someone wants to contract, they will not contract less than one year and if they want to go direct can go direct after 90 days. if you are a guy or gal straight out of the military and especially those who just have helicopter experience, they are the premiere MRO and have been entrusted by Boeing to do the big jobs. They are the only ones that can do the AFT pressure bulkhead replacement which is what holds the air in the plane. They change the dome on it. If someone out of the military comes here and works for 1-3 years they can basically choose their next job if they wanted too.
Located at an old AFB in Wilmington, Ohio (12,000 people) that they converted in 1972 and rebuilt. It is considered small town America. There is no traffic and within 1 hour of Cincinnati, Dayton, & Columbus. Close to MLB, minor league baseball, and has one of the best World Equestrian Centers. Veterans tend to really like the area because it has a lot of WWII attractions like the Air Force Museum where they tested the Waco Gliders in WWII. They have 6 heavy maintenance bays inside that are enclosed and heated and they only work outside a few days during the winter. They also have a cafeteria for breakfast and lunch that is open for 1st shift and a kiosk that’s almost set up like a gas station.
Shifts:
- Friday – Monday
- Wednesday – Saturday
- Sunday - Wednesday
- 1st – 7am – 3:30pm
- 2nd – 3:30pm – 11:30pm
- 3rd – 11:00pm – 7:00am – if people want this shift, they always want to hire them.
BR: $48.00 (Both Straight and Overtime)
$35/hr compensation package ($13/hr taxed and $880 in weekly per diem). No overtime accelerator.
This is a long term 6-month contract to hire position.
Traveler: taxed on $12/hr and untaxed on $600. Total comp is $27.
