Position Overview
The Ramp Tech/GSE Helper will deliver equipment to aircraft and pickup equipment. He/She will assemble and disassemble scaffolds and stands. They are also expected to work in a safe manner eliminating waste and delivering a quality product on time.
- Deliver stands, equipment, and scaffolds to aircraft and return to storage.
- Keep the storage area of equipment in order and clean.
- Organize and maintain stands, equipment, and scaffolds.
- Inspect and service stands, equipment, and scaffolds.
- Assemble and disassemble scaffolds and stands.
- Monitor self and others to assure all duties are performed within the guidelines as specified by the HAECO Team Member Safety Manual to promote a culture of safety.
- Possess knowledge of hydraulic components.
- Assist GSE Mechanic with general duties.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Accountable to the GSE/Facilities Manager in all daily functions.
What you need (Requirements)
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Must be familiar with hand tools.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to operate forklift and manlifts.
- Normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination for job duties is necessary for use of hand tools and equipment controls.
- Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required.
- Sense of smell is required to detect odors for safety purposes.
- Physical abilities such as standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. are required.
- Must be able to crawl under, climb over, push, or pull equipment to perform repairs.
- Subject to conditions of hot or cold weather.
Preferred
- Have three years’ experience in with fleet maintenance or with automotive/diesel engines.
- Own toolbox with basic hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
