Position Summary:
Level One: Issues instruments, hand tools, machine tools, safety equipment, materials, equipment, and assists tool crib purchasing clerk maintain inventory, receiving, stock, and by performing the following duties.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Issues calibrated measuring instruments, tools, equipment and consumables to workers. Maintains logging records of these items issued and returned by computer and Cribware software.
- Issues calibrated measuring instruments to Quality Assurance for calibration when required.
- Issues reports for upcoming calibration dates for instruments, measuring instruments checked out to Quality Assurance.
- Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment. Controls measuring instruments tagged out of service in both the physical location and in the Cribware.
- Assists in periodic inventory and/or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment and consumables.
- Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
- Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment; marks and identifies tools and equipment; delivers tools or equipment to workers.
- Is familiar and understands Bar Coding and vending dispensed tool machines.
- Performs various duties for other departments as directed.
- Maintains security of the tool crib during the work shift.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before Company managers and employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute percentages and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Experience & Education
- High school/GED preferred but not required; or up to one-year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Typically, 0-1 Years)
