Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an experienced Sr Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist to support our Armament Systems Business Unit based in Mesa, Arizona.
Position Description
- Supports the definition and development of the material strategy for a program portfolio.
- Supports the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; planning inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products.
- Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management.
- Analyzes and aggregates supply/demand requirements.
- Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
- Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements.
- Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements.
- Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments.
- Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs.
- Interfaces with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed.
- Approves requisitions.
- Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts.
- Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements.
- Participates in proposal and material pricing activities associated with responding to customer RFPs.
- Responsible for material program budgets and analyzing program material cost inputs through the EAC financial reporting process.
Responsibilities of this role:
The Sr Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist is the focal point interfacing with the Program Office and internal customers; Quality, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Contracts.
The Sr Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist represents the Supply Chain organization on policies, strategies and objectives, oversee all SCM activities needed to meet program requirements and ensures a strong link between various Supply Chain functions including Purchasing/Sub-Contracts, Logistics and Production Control.
Required Qualifications:
This position emphasizes skills first.
- Must have 12 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials management or relevant field may be considered.
- Willing to consider Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or closely related field of study, plus 8 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials management, or relevant field;
Or master’s degree plus 6 years of experience;
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint ERP tools
- Proficiency in MS Excel
Salary Range: $98,100 - $147,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
