Our team is looking for a Sourcing Specialist to join them. You will report to the Purchasing Supervisor and will have an onsite work structure in Plainview, New York.
To be considered for the Sourcing Specialist opening, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or other technical discipline
2+ years’ experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing environment, or experience in a related field
1+ years’ experience of strategic sourcing based on reading and interpreting technical drawings
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Fundamental understanding of Inventory Management
Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools is preferable
As a Sourcing Specialist, you will:
Analyze technical data packages for various commodities to determine qualified sources of supply to solicit.
Lead the effort to operationalize a comprehensive process for sourcing, specification changes, manufacturing process changes, pricing, and contract negotiations.
Develop and maintain new and existing supplier relationships in support of strategic objectives.
Ensure accurate reporting of sourcing key performance measurements (savings, preferred supplier adherence, small business / minority owned, etc.) for the site.
Provide monthly status updates on completed, in process and scheduled activities with associated financials.
Ensure engagement and management of sourcing changes with cross functional teams by understanding their business needs and how they can be fulfilled from the spanetplace, as well as provide accountability for their alignment.
Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Operations key stakeholders to resolve material issues and ensure on-time delivery to our customers.
Ensure bids/proposals are properly vetted/reviewed with technical data packages.
Review and process solicitations, technical data packages, parts list, Engineering comments and flow down requirements.
Lead vendor negotiations and costing BOM to support bid and proposals.
Drive the decision-making process & action planning for each activity, while driving efficiencies and cost reduction / savings opportunities.
Lead Inventory Management efforts to ensure inventory is accurate and is stocked accordingly.
Review future material requirements and ensure purchase orders are placed in a timely manner.
Familiarity with or working through obsolescence/DMS (diminishing manufacturing supply) challenges, including adherence to CPPP (counterfeit parts prevention program) requirements
