Job Title: Plating OperatorJob Description
- Set up and maintain various equipment to process parts and materials to required thicknesses as per client specifications.
- Operate and function on all equipment within the department.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections and maintain accurate documentation on various parts.
- Collaborate with peer operators, sharing techniques to enhance skills and streamline processes.
- Assist and train other operators and helpers on proper operational procedures.
- Operate and assist in processes including anodize, chrome, nickel, cadmium, electroless nickel, copper, silver, and passivate.
- Follow verbal and written Engineering and Quality Control instructions as contained in process procedures and blueprints.
- Maintain attentiveness to process details and equipment such as timers, temperature controllers, and rectifier meters.
- Assist in the build and repair of electroplating fixtures.
- Perform pre- and post-processing tasks including degreasing, cleaning, blasting, and inspection.
- Assess plating tank condition with tank side testing or sampling.
- Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and plating thickness instruments.
- Maintain logs, documents, and records as required by process controls.
- Move materials using equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance such as cleaning and changing filters.
- Inventory, receive, and sign for incoming plating materials and supplies.
- Maintain a positive attitude and report all issues to management.
- Perform opening/closing procedures and other miscellaneous duties as needed.
Essential Skills- High school diploma or GED with three months or more of related experience or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions.
- Proficiency in writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment safely at all times.
Additional Skills & Qualifications - Production, Chemical, Electroplating, Plating, Chemical Processing, Chemical Mixing.
- Experience in chemical handling and general production.
- Willingness to learn and work in a warehouse environment.
- Detail-oriented with cleaning skills.
Shifts and Pay- M-F
- 6 am - 2:30 pm
- 10 am - 6:30 pm
- $20-30/hour (DOE)
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.57 - $30.86/hr.
