Machine Opr C-Autoclave-5th Shift

Job Summary:
To learn operations of autoclaves, ovens and/or presses used in the bonding process. May be required to
assist higher grade operators.
Job Responsibilities:
• Works from bonding and process specifications, blueprints, and production schedules to perform
fabrication sequences for metal and composites bonding.
• Performs autoclave and oven bonding functions to include:
o Seals the autoclave and check for vacuum leaks and short circuits in the thermocouple
wiring.
o Checks the recorder & temperature control during the cure cycle to maintain proper
conditions for valid bonding. Interprets and apply the proper amount of heat and pressure
from information on bonding process instruction sheets.
o Plan for most effective runs for each workday. Load autoclave and/or oven for most
effective heating & curing of parts, occasionally requiring operation of moving equipment.
• Monitors status and report shortages of supplies and processing materials.
• Assists in debagging operations.
• Responsible for quality of own work.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Education:
Requires a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Must
obtain and maintain any necessary certifications, training and licensing, including Forklift Operation
Certificate.
Experience:
No experience required.
Working Conditions:
Generally good working conditions. Occasional exposure to heat, fumes, liquids and wearing protective
clothing.
