Position Summary:
Without supervision, conventional machinists set up and machine complex production part features, demonstrating expert skill in machining aluminum, titanium, and different types of steel, as well as machine setup and operation. Conventional machinist competencies include the ability to perform complex part layout to print, as well as expert mechanical inspection. The conventional machinists will provide leadership and mentoring to lower level manual machinists, as well as demonstrate advanced trouble shooting and critical rework abilities. Conventional machinists will also produce complex tooling from scratch or to print as necessary, as well as assist in developing conventional machining processes for new product. 6+ YOE. Must be a US citizen to be in position.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Machine complex production part features with very small margin for error.
- Create simple and complex tooling as necessary.
- Fully perform advanced setups on mills and or lathes.
- Machine all types of common aerospace materials without assistance.
- Provide training and assistance to lower level conventional machinists as necessary.
- Support the site with the highest risk one off rework operations when necessary.
- Assist in developing new conventional machining processes for new product.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Advanced ability to read prints and perform mechanical inspections
- Leadership and mentoring abilities and willing to train other employees as needed
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and experience in advanced detailed machining
Required Experience:
- This position typically requires evidence of at least six years of experience machining in the aerospace industry in addition to the other machining competencies described above.
- 7+ years of experience
Level of Education:
- GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
- NIMS Certification desired but not required.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $25 to $45 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
