Position Summary
- Responsible for UHP and Yangsan location import items analyzing and purchasing the incoming flow of materials, MRO items and other manufacturing components to support the production schedule
- The Buyer uses the PFEP (Plan for Every Part) to develop and implement strategies to keep inventory at an optimal level to support production and customer orders while optimizing inventory as a percent of sales.
Scope/Supervision & Interaction
- Position directly report to the Materials Leader as solid line and import specialist in Yangsan as dot line.
- Manage the material control process including procurement, production/inventory control, and support localization project.
- UHP Key supplier and Hose, Fitting oversea supplier contact and control.
Essential Functions:
Identifies and recommends UHP suppliers by investigating potential suppliers, researching parts, equipment, machinery, services, and materials availability. - Hose and Fitting overseas purchasing. This activities including EDI, supplier follow-up, price negotiation , instruction for the shipments, customs clearance, confirm to stock the goods.
Conducts supplier site visits and evaluates them as to production capability, performance, delivery, and other key business criteria. May complete supplier certification as part of a technical and/or quality team. Purchases parts, equipment, and materials by preparing request for quotations and submitting purchase orders with approved suppliers. Issues purchase orders and agreements that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms, and conditions as negotiated with suppliers. Maintains accurate lead times for assigned commodities.
Monitors and evaluates supplier performance. Advises appropriate personnel of impending supplier failure to fulfill contractual agreements that may delay production or delivery.
Resolves shipment quality discrepancies by mediating supplier/manufacturing issues. Facilitates the resolution of issues by arranging and participating in conferences between suppliers and company personnel.

Qualifications:
- At least 4 year bachelor’s degree in business , engineering , or relevant discipline.
- 0-3 years experience and/or exposure to supply chain and manufacturing concepts and methodologies.
- Working knowledge of materials management systems including supply chain management.
- Materials management required with certification in materials management and quality preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft PC software (e.g. spreadsheets, word processing, databases and presentations)
- Able to communicate with English by e-mail and Telephone.
