Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

  • The Aviation Tool Room Attendant is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining records of tools, equipment, and supplies in an aviation hangar. This position ensures proper inventory control, tracks tool usage, monitors calibrated equipment, and manages hazardous materials storage.

DUTIES:

  • Maintain accurate records of tools and equipment issued and returned using manual logs or computer-based tracking systems.
  • Perform periodic inventory counts and maintain perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools, equipment, and shop supplies.
  • Requisition stock as needed to maintain inventory levels.
  • Inspect tools and equipment for defects, wear, or damage and report any issues.
  • Transport tools or equipment for load testing or calibration using a company box truck.
  • Mark and identify tools and equipment with appropriate identification tags or spanings.
  • Reconcile activity records for monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Maintain hazardous materials inventory and ensure proper labeling and storage.
  • Monitor and track all calibrated equipment and tooling to ensure compliance.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and company box trucks (must be able to qualify for an operators license).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience in supply logistics, tool control, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Experience with TcMax or similar tool control software is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with inventory tracking software and MS Office Suite preferred (Costpoint experience is a plus but not required).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.   • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
