Job Description:

The Component Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing aircraft parts and services to support component MRO operations.  The role requires managing the inbound/outbound flow of components through the MRO cycle for the Aviation industry. The role requires engagement in root cause and corrective action of supplier performance issues. The Buyer works closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support operational and financial goals. Key Responsibilities:Source and procure component MRO services from the aviation supply chainCreate and issue purchase orders and manage order cycle from release to deliveryOrganize component core information (time on aircraft, cycles on aircraft, time since overhaul, etc)Ensure all purchased materials meet FAA/EASA/CAA regulatory and airworthiness requirementsMonitor inventory levels and forecast purchasing requirementsReview certifications (e.g., 8130-3, EASA Form 1) and traceability documentationCoordinate with maintenance, engineering, planning, and logistics teamsManage AOG (Aircraft on Ground) and urgent procurement situationsTrack supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issuesIdentify and evaluate approved suppliers, OEMs, distributors, and repair stationsResolve escalated supplier, delivery, or quality issuesIdentify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with approved suppliersManage supplier performance to commit dates and established lead time.   Qualifications:Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Aviation Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)2–5+ years of experience in aviation procurement, MRO purchasing, or aerospace supply chainKnowledge of aircraft parts, ATA chapters, and aviation documentationExperience working with FAA/EASA regulations and quality standardsProficiency in ERP/MRO systems and Microsoft ExcelStrong negotiation and communication skills Preferred Skills:Experience with digital tools and data analytics in the afterspanet space.Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems (e.g., IFS, Salesforce).
