Job Summary
The Allegheny County Airport Authority’s Planning & GIS Internship position will an opportunity to gain experience in providing geospatial data support, including creating and maintaining GIS, BIM and CAD datasets, performing spatial analysis, creating presentations and maps, developing web-based tools and applications, and incorporating 3rd party datasets. The Planning & GIS Intern will support various airport projects, including but not limited to Space Allocation Program, Geospatial Systems Development Program, and ArcGIS Indoors capabilities.
Here is how the Planning & GIS Intern will help:
- Provide geospatial and general support for the Planning group, utilizing GIS, BIM and CAD datasets, creating data and content for desktop and mobile applications, converting data between multiple formats, collecting data in the field, publishing maps and layers to ArcGIS Online, and preparing maps for presentation.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures for web-based applications.
- Work with stakeholders to develop content for web-based applications.
- Conduct survey research in the airport using mobile tools.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Requirements to apply for role of Planning & GIS Intern are:
- Must currently be enrolled in school as a second year (or above) undergraduate from an accredited four-year college or university in GIS, Planning or related field.
- Must maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or greater.
