The Allegheny County Airport Authority’s AGC Internship position will expose the student to hands-on experience at the Allegheny County Airport (AGC) in West Mifflin, PA. The incumbent will be involved in several projects throughout the internship, and will have the unique opportunity to work with multiple levels of the organization and provide support in analyzing, developing, and improving processes.
Here is how the AGC Intern will help:
- Conduct research, collect data, analyze and develop recommendations for potential strategies and tactics to address challenges related to AGC, with regard to organizational priorities and performance standards.
- Partner with our team at AGC to assist in the revision and development of airport operations and communications policies and procedures
- Attend and participate in the airport tenant and staff meetings
- Assist with the daily airfield safety and security inspections
- Assist in coordination of day-to-day activities
- Attend and participate in AGC Operations-provided training and check-rides
- Assist in various inspections, such as hangar, fueling and FBO random inspections
- Assist with research and content development for training
- Assist in preventative maintenance program; and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Air Operations Area (AOA) and airside complexes
- Assist with wildlife mitigation and reporting
- Aid Operation Supervisors and Duty Managers as needed
- Performs other related tasks as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Requirements to apply for role of AGC Intern are:
- Must currently be enrolled in school as a second year (or above) undergraduate from an accredited four-year college or university in Aviation Management, or related field.
- Must maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or greater.
