Tool Designer (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Manufacturing - Entry Level
Position Summary:
Creates new and modifies existing tool designs for all areas of manufacturing utilizing NX CAD software. Works in collaboration with the Tooling Department team and cross functional team members to meet program milestones and release drawings according to the project schedule, while also ensuring approvals in scope of work are obtained as required.
Essential Job Functions
Generate technical drawings and concepts for new and existing tools. (NX Required)
Design and develop new tools. (NX Required)
Check for design continuity and conformance to standards.
Act as liaison between Tooling and Manufacturing Engineering departments.
Research world class tooling practices for possible improvements.
Prepare/update reports on status of current projects.
Update schedules.
Interface with external designers and tooling vendors.
Prepare and follow up on miscellaneous projects and reports.
Perform other related duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.May be required to train and assist other employees, effectively partnering and collaborating on department and cross-functional organizational initiatives.
Minimum Position Qualifications

Education and Experience:
A Bachelors Degree in Engineering is preferred. Five to seven years design experience with aircraft tooling is required. NX10 or above, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Unigraphics II, and Microsoft Office computer program literacy required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of tooling and basic machine shop practices.
