Role Summary
* In this role, you will support the design and integration of next-generation commercial aircraft flight decks by developing and documenting component and system requirements; creating mechanical and electrical design solutions; translating requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs; supporting certification, production, and in-service operations; coordinating cross-functional engineering activities; resolving technical issues through root cause analysis; and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, cost, and schedule objectives. Education & Job Requirements
* Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Mechanical Engineering.
* A minimum of 2 years of related work experience in an engineering classification.
* Must be a U.S. person for purposes of export compliance. Professional Attributes

* Experience with model-based engineering tools and numerical analysis.

* Experience developing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Specification Control Documents (SCDs).
* Experience working with suppliers, regulatory agencies, or airline customers. Job Duties & Functions
* Develop and document component and detail design requirements for complex mechanical and electrical systems.
* Create design solutions using model-based engineering software and analytical tools.
* Translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications.
* Lead cross-functional technical coordination with manufacturing, flight crew operations, safety, supply chain, systems software, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies.
* Identify problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions using structured methodologies.
* Provide factory and flight line support to resolve emergent production issues.
* Develop Interface Control Documents and Specification Control Documents or drawings.
* Perform system safety assessments, fault tree analyses, and reliability evaluations.
* Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
* Support fielded hardware and software throughout the product lifecycle.
* Research emerging technologies for potential application to company programs. Physical Requirements & Environment
