Job Description:

Summary
The individual(s) will be responsible for Legacy Product and New Product for the Sarasota Distribution Components product lines. All aspects of product design/test/certification, Existing product improvements, Obsolescence, Product Family Group Qualification, RCCA, Customer/Supplier technical interface. Conducts engineering assignments including the design analysis and re-design of existing products and components to reduce product costs and improve quality. Maintain design control, provide production support, and assist with customer and supplier support of existing parts and products on as needed basis to assure problem resolution and growth of the business.

Essential Duties:
•tUses systematic, data driven problem solving processes such as 8D, A3, DMAIC, PDCA to solve design and manufacturing problems
•tEvaluates use of non-conforming parts, processes and assemblies to determine their usability in the product while ensuring that the quality and functionality of the product will be maintained
•tContributes to review/documentation of changes proposed by Manufacturing, Purchasing and Suppliers including material obsolescence evaluations following our CR process
•tContributes to field event investigations
•tContributes to the development of engineering and design validation test procedures per Military, SAE, RTCA DO-160, Customer(s) and EN standards, performs testing as needed, and documents results with support of more experienced team members
•tReviews Customers technical inquiries and requests to modify products
•tParticipate in overall engineering activities as needed
•tFollows SAFRAN and Aerospace procedures and regulations
•tRegular, predictable attendance is required
•tMust be willing to work overtime as necessary
Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
•\tBachelor's degree in mechanical, Aerospace or another relevant discipline of Engineering from an accredited institution.
•\tSelf-starter, drive for excellence and good organizational skills
•\tAbility to read/understand prints (including GD&T), routings, bill of materials and process sheets.
•\tAbility to read, interpret and apply Engineering Aerospace Standards and Specifications (MIL, SAE, RTCA, International (EN) and Customer Proprietary)
•\tUnderstanding of electrical circuits and mechanical systems
•\tUnderstanding of various machining and manufacturing processes
•\tUnderstanding of fabrication, assembly and test processes, tooling, and equipment.
•\tAbility to collect and interpret data to troubleshoot and problem solve
•\tgood communication skills (written and verbal)
•\tgood Microsoft Office skills (especially Microsoft Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
•\tPrevious experience in the aerospace industry
•\t2 years experience in a manufacturing environment
•\tMaster's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
•\tHands on experience with machining processes
•\tMechanical and technical background in electrical and mechanical systems with hands-on experience
•\tUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts, Six Sigma tools and 8D problem solving tools.
•\tExperience with PTC CREO, CATIA, SolidWorks, Configuration Control, PLM system, SAP.
•\tFluent French and/or Spanish
