The Role
The Selborne Supportability Engineer is responsible for the supportability of Designated Training Equipment within the Selborne Programme.
Reporting to the Head of Training Equipment, this position requires exceptional knowledge and experience across the breadth of all Integrated Logistic Support disciplines to act as the interface between the product and the support solution during the service phase of the Selborne Programme.
This role is suited to an experienced ILS practitioner, and offers an exciting challenge in supporting a key Raytheon UK programme with responsibilities for:.
- Advising on and improving the support solutions across multiple training systems to ensure a coherent support solution delivering against the Through-Life Management Plan with particular emphasis on Obsolescence Management.
- Evolve Design for Supportability Requirements and ensure the product design is compliant with them.
- Responsibility for the implementation of contractual ILS requirements through the project.
- Attend In service support reviews; to ensure ILS project drivers are fully understood, considered and the impacts of any associated risks are reduced.
- Support to Programme Management by producing ILS engineering plans, Basis of Estimates, Key Performance Targets and Statements of Work.
- Ensuring that all ILS activities undertaken are conducted in accordance with Raytheon UK site procedures that reflects best practice and are in accordance with Raytheon UK procedures.
- Be ‘Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement’.
- Any other duties required to meet the needs of the programme.
Should have:
- An engineering background, with equivalent previous related experience.
- Proven knowledge and experience as an ILS / Supportability engineer.
- In depth experience of Obsolescence Management
- Supportability engineering skills to analyse the product supportability to develop and deliver a support solution.
- A high level of competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A comprehensive understanding of Technical Publications and Support Documents.
- Track record of supportability case preparation and delivery.
- Comprehensive understanding of standards and guidance relating to supportability activities.
- Flexibility to travel regularly within the UK to support meetings.
Should have:
- Well-developed planning and organisational abilities.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of Availability Modelling Tools.
- Experience of Conducting a Maintenance Task Analysis.
- Obsolescence Management Planning.
- Hold a current SC security clearance.
