Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff-level Software Engineer to join our team supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU). This position would be based in the Aurora, CO.
Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Technical leader and focal point for the development team – ensuring software is well designed and of high quality. Support designing embedded software/firmware applications to support real time processing of RF signals and designing and manipulating pulsed waveforms. Support the Delivery Lead/Project Manager in developing project roadmaps, understanding delivery time scales, and communicating these to the customer. Liaison with the Product Owner to manage the product road map and communicating the impact of changing customer requirements. Identifying technical risks/opportunities and proactively developing plans to mitigate and realize them. Experience in leading an Agile software development team of mixed abilities.
This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have an active TS/SCI clearance at time of application. Must be willing to obtain a Ci Poly after starting work.
- Masters in electrical engineering with a focus in digital signal processing with 10+ years of software development experience.
- Experience designing embedded software/firmware applications to support real time processing of RF signals.
- Expert in designing and manipulating pulsed waveforms.
- Firm understanding of RF theory to include time domain and frequency domain signal analysis.
- Expert in software defined radio architectures to include REDHAWK.
- Demonstrated experience writing python signal processing applications
- Experience of leading an Agile software development team of mixed abilities
- Hands on experience of developing software in Java, JavaScript, and Python.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Perform hands-on development and actively contribute to the code base including peer review of code
- Liaison with the Product Owner to manage the product road map and communicating the impact of changing customer requirements
- Identifying technical risks/opportunities and proactively developing plans to mitigate and realize them
- Understanding of Cloud-based architectures in AWS or Azure
- Understanding of database technologies such as SQL, Elasticsearch or MongoDBM
- Experience supporting the Delivery Lead/Project Manager in developing project roadmaps, understanding delivery time scales, and communicating these to the customer.
- Understanding of Cloud-based architectures in AWS or Azure.
- Use of DevOps Automated Deployment tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab, Docker, OpenShift or Kubernetes.
Salary Range: $171,000 - $256,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
