Aerojet-Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company is seeking a Sr. Specialist Requirements and Integration Engineer at our Orlando, FL location. Coleman Aerospace is a prime tactical and strategic missile target system provider supporting ballistic missile defense testing. High-Fidelity Air-Launched one, two, and three stage ballistic missile targets are their primary product line. Coleman’s capabilities range from the precision assembly of large missile structures, to telemetry, avionics, networks, cold gas control systems, flight termination control modules, advanced vehicle guidance systems, environmental stress screening, qualification and acceptance testing. This role is responsible for defining, managing, and verifying system requirements across multiple components within an aerospace project, ensuring all systems seamlessly integrate and function together as intended, by collaborating with various engineering teams to translate high-level requirements into detailed specifications and oversee the integration process throughout the development lifecycle.
Essential Functions:
Coleman Aerospace is looking for a self-motivated individual with prior technical experience supporting complex aerospace development programs from program inception through completion. Working under general direction:
- Provide oversight and implement standardized Systems R&I engineering activities for all phases of the program life cycle
- Provide oversight and implement Systems R&I Engineering processes for requirements derivation and flowdown
- Develop and manage system requirements and architecture and requirements verification activities
- Review Systems R&I engineering work products for consistency
- The generation of documentation to support design analyses
- The generation and maintenance of interface control documents, hardware specifications, and verification / validation plans
- Ability to travel as required
- This position may require occasional overtime and nonstandard business hours as required to meet critical schedule milestones
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant Systems Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Requires strong knowledge of job area.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience supporting the execution of government technical interchange meetings (TIMs), major system level design reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, and milestone reviews such as MSRR, MDR, PSRR
- Experience leading systems engineering teams in executing programs
- Experience with Hardware/Software integration, testing, and troubleshooting
- Experience in mentoring and growing technical staff.Prior experience must include a background in systems engineering requirements and verification methods.
- The ability to understand mechanical and electrical aerospace drawings, environmental test requirements, and various aerospace analysis methods is a plus
- Familiarity with Digital Engineering and MBSE tools and methodologies
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills are required, as well as solid computer skills and experience using the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project). Knowledge of IBM Rational DOORS requirements management tools strongly desired
- The ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Experience with the Missile Defense Agency, or prior work experience with missiles, launch vehicles, and/or solid rocket motors desired
